Bio

Georgios Z. Papadopoulos serves as an Associate Professor at the IMT Atlantique in Rennes, France, and as a Research Scientist at the IRT b<>com in Rennes, France. Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Bristol. He received his HDR from University of Rennes 1 in 2021, and his PhD from University of Strasbourg, in 2015 with honours. Dr. Papadopoulos has given more than 20 Keynote, Tutorial, Invited, and Webinar talks at various international conferences, and universities and research labs world-wide. He has been involved in the organisation and program committee of many international scientific events, such as IEEE CSCN’22, IEEE GLOBECOM’21, IEEE ISCC’20. Moreover, he has been serving as Associate Editor for Wireless Networks journal and Internet Technology Letters (ITL) since 2018, and for Transactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies (ETT) since 2020. Dr. Papadopoulos is author of more than 80 peer-reviewed publications in the area of computer communications, networks, and cybersecurity. He actively participates at the IETF standards organisation with multiple drafts in the RAW, ROLL, and DetNet Working Groups. His research interests include Industrial IoT, Deterministic Networks, Smart Grid, Wireless Battery Management System (BMS) in Electric Vehicles, CyberSecurity, and Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) for 5G networks. He has been teaching courses at the IMT Atlantique and at the University of Rennes 1, and has been invited to give several short-courses at other universities world-wide (e.g., University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, International Hellenic University, Greece) in the area of wireless networks, and Internet of Things.
