Greetings to all. Now, we are about to start the Staircases Module. For this building, our staircase is divided into three parts due to space. In today's class, we will learn an easy way to draw the staircase including the steps and landings. We will use the Section Plane to bring functions like Tool, and Push and Pull Tool. Let's get started. Now, we draw the stairs. When we draw the stairs, we use so tool called Section Plane. Click the tools in the Menu bar, and select Section Plane. Here, we can see the cursor became a plane. The Section Plane cursor will be parallel to the face we click, so we click the wall that is parallel to the stairs. Then we use the Move tool to move the plane to the right place, so we can get a good view to draw the stairs. By creating Section Plane, we can look around the building and draw new objects in it. We first add a new layer, giving it a name of Stairs, then choose this as added layer. Now, we use the Line tool to draw the first step. The first step is 420 centimeters and there are 23 steps. So the height of step is 420 divided 23 centimeters. We don't need to calculate it. We can just input 420/23. The width is 25 centimeters, so we input 25 to finish the first step. We select these two lines, then select Move tool while we press control button. We can make a copy of selected lines. Because we need to draw seven step in total, we simply input 6x in the measurement box to repeat this copy action six times. Then use Line tool to connect the top of the stair and the wall. Next, select the stair part and make a group. So now, these line segments become a group. Then we'll use a Line tool to connect the upper and lower end of the group. Now, we use Select tool to select this line. Then we press Shift key and select the line which connected to the wall. With these two lines selected, now we use Offset tool to offset these lines down for 12 centimeters. This is the thickness of the stair. We can see the shape of the stair. Now, we can delete the unnecessary lines. Now, we explode the stair group, and then we add some segments to complete a closed polygon. Once this polygon is closed, we can pull the stair out. By using Push/Pull tool, we pull the stair accordingly to the floor plan, then we erase the extra lines. Next, to draw the stair landing, we draw the vertical line at which the landing and the stair meets, we select the Section Plane and reverse it. This action will allowed us to draw the other parts of the stair. Once the Section Plane is reversed, we can move it until we have a good position for it. Now, we can use Push and Pull tool to pull the landing to the wall on the other side. After this, we pull the landing from side until it gets the same position as the first step of the stairs. Erase the unnecessary lines. We've finished the first part of the stairs. Today, we drew the first part of our stair. This process seemed a little bit complicated, but we'll get used to it once we try it more than once. We should remember that the size of each step will be shown in the video, and that we need to follow this exact size to avoid actual problems in the end. We will keep building the stairs' second parts after. Let's stop for now. Goodbye.
