[MUSIC] If we want to improve the health of the population, why not start with the children. We see, children, it's our future. And we know that many diseases, and the health is actually established when you are very young, and so it seems to be quite important or relevant to focus on the children's diet and exercise and other factors that influence their health. We know that diabetes and, and arteriosclerosis is established in a very young age, or at least the process is starting. And one of the major problems we have today with our children is that they have overweight, many are obese, and there are also many other conditions that are related to their overweight. But we also see a lot of attention deficit disorders and other mental and cognitive disturbances in behavior and learning skills that actually affects our children. We as scientists know that the diet is very important for children. We have mainly circumstantial evidence, but we know it's, it's important. And on the other hand, we see that children are actually consuming quite a lousy diet. In many parts of the world where we definitely can afford to ensure a supply of very good and nutritious food for our children. So part of this project is also to, not only to look at the effect of the New Nordic Diet on adults and look at, you know, how palatable it is and how it will protect the health of the planet and it would be, be sustainable. We also need to know how it could potentially affect the healths and other learning skills and behavior of children. So that's the reason why we are conducting this huge study in schools. It's simply to use it as a platform to demonstrate. If we can show some beneficial effects of this diet, we think it, of course, it's the goal of, of the science we are doing it to try to find out. How much can we do in terms of, of the, this diet and this is what our research is about. But we also know that the, what could this, the research results, what can it be used for? And, of course the aim is to generate some knowledge that can have some impact in the society. And we strongly believe that it, if we could put some numbers on how much it could reduce the prevalence of overweight, or how much we could improve the learning skills of the children, and maybe also that there would be more eh, they would be sit more quiet in the room and focus on, on, on the teachers. if we could come up with some very good figures, numbers, we see we would have a very strong argument to persuade politicians, parents, and also the schools, actually to introduce a diet that is much more healthy. So, the next part that you will hear a lot about how this fantastic and unique study in, in all these hundreds of, of school children, you'll hear about how pickiness disappears when the children are involved in the preparation of the foods themselves and suddenly they'll start to eat something they have, they have discarded for, for many years. So, it seems to have some, unique opportunities really to, to make a difference. But of course, we're really looking forward to seeing all the scientific results of, of the study. [MUSIC]
