Welcome to Oracle University's training on Oracle Autonomous Database, Data Safe. My name is Angela Wong and I'm a solution architect with Oracle for going on 10 years now. I'm excited to talk to you about what we're doing in the security space with our new data safe [inaudible]. Now, in addition to the rich framework of solutions that we provide out of the box we also have a solution current data safe. Oracle data safe is a unified control center, a centralized dashboard, if you will, for you to manage and assess the security of all of your enterprise database services. It gives you a quick and easy way to identify configurations that may not be compliant or if they're sensitive data that's not been cataloged correctly. It also provides easy tools to perform data masking and operations. It is a very powerful, simple to use tool with some out-of-the-box reports and mechanisms to just ensure that your system is running safe and a very easy to perform manner. Oracle data safe is a free service with all Oracle Cloud databases. We only charge you if you exceed one million audit vectors per month per target. If that limit is met then the pricing is very nominal at $0.08 per 10,000 per target come up. As was mentioned, data safe is a fully integrated Cloud service focused on the security of your data. It provides a complete set of integrate features for protecting sensitive and regulated data and Oracle cloud databases. The features include security assessment, user assessment, data discovery, data masking and activity auditing. Security assessment helps you assess the security of a database configurations. It analyzes your databases, the user accounts, the security controls and then reports the findings with recommendations for remediation. Next, there's user assessment. It helps you assess the security of your database users and identify any high-risk users. It can search for whether or not someone's password has been changed or it can also directly link audit records to those users' phone. In data discovery, it can help you find sensitive data in your databases. You tell it what you want to search for and then it will actually go out and inspect that data in your databases and then return to you a list of the sensitive columns. Data masking. It provides a way for you to mask sensitive data, so that data is safe for non-production purposes. Like most organizations, there's often the need to copy your production data down to your lower level environments or for testing purposes and with data masking you're able to do that but replace that sensitive data with realistic but fictitious data. Then lastly, there's activity auditing. It lets you audit user activity on your databases, so you can monitor database usage and be alerted of unusual database activities. Now Oracle goes to the next step by securing configurations and users as space traditionally left to the customer to handle. I'm proud to announce that we've extended the security capabiities of Oracle's autonomous database by adding data safe. Data safe manages risk associated with configurations users and sensitive data. It is one integrated security service to identify poor configuration to configuration assessments, flag risky users or behavior. Activity auditing tracks risky actions and streamlines audits, discover and mask sensitive data. Security shouldn't be a choice to make and as your trusted technology provider will never pass the bar. We'll continue to invest and innovate to bring you the most secure Cloud and database platforms. Here's an example, an ATP demo autonomous transaction processing instance is active and running. To enable data safe for this autonomous database you just need to click, "Register" and Confirm to register your database or for your autonomous database to be leveraging or to be using Oracle data safe. To discontinue using data safe, you deregister the database. Once your autonomous database is registered to leverage work with data safe, simply click, "New console." Clicking new console will take you to the centralized dashboard on the Oracle data safe console where you can capture, mine, do a security assessment and get expertise. To wrap things up, Oracle data safe helps you understand the sensitivity of your data, evaluate risk to data, mask sensitive data, implement and monitor security controls, assess user security, monitor user activity and address data security compliance requirements.
