Tuition Fee
The MSIT programme from IIIT Hyderabad aims to create affordable access worldwide to students interested in acquiring technology and computer science skills.
Tuition fees for Academic Year 2023-2024:
- Total tuition fee to be paid is ₹2,56,000 INR or $3,200 USD
- The tuition fee will be split equally across 8 terms (12 weeks duration per term) and paid before each term.
- There is no application or registration fee.

Additional expenses: The term fee does not cover the cost of textbooks or optional campus immersions, if any. Prescribed textbooks (print or e-book) for each course will need to be procured by you. Students are also expected to have a laptop/PC and internet access.
Potential fee structure implications:
Incase you take a break during/between terms: If you are unable to complete the required credits within the 4-year duration, you will need to re-register for the programme in the next available cohort, and the corresponding programme or term fees will apply again. Breaks are only permitted between terms. If you take a break during an ongoing semester, you will need to register for that semester again and pay the applicable tuition fee.
Incase you are unable to meet minimum qualifying marks If you're unable to obtain the minimum required marks in any term throughout this degree programme, you can re-attempt the term assessment any number of times within the same year. However, for each re-attempt you will be required to pay ₹1600/ $20. You're permitted to carry over a maximum of one term’s assessment as a backlog. Any backlog from terms 1-4 must be cleared within the first year.
In the above cases the regular tuition fee structure may not apply.
Financial aid
Scholarships are not available for this programme at the moment. However, to ensure affordability and accessibility, you can consider the following options to avail financial assistance:
- Student loan: IIIT Hyderabad has partnered with State Bank of India (SBI, IIIT-H branch), providing an ‘SBI Scholar student loan’ of up to ₹20 lakh INR to any student who secures admission at IIIT Hyderabad. You can find more details here and here.
- Flexible payments: You will also have the option to split your tuition fee in easy monthly instalments (EMIs) if you’re applying from India. Interest rates may apply depending on your bank and instalment tenure.
